I saw a better movie today than on Christmas Day. "Calendar Girls" was a surprisingly good movie. I say surprisingly because reviewers hadn't rated it very highly. They generally said that it wasn't as good as "The Full Monty" and suffered by the compairison.

That might be true because I've not seen the other movie, but "Calendar Girls" IS a good movie. It's even one that you can take your mother to see and she'll probably like it a lot.

It's the story of how a group of women were inspired to pose for a calendar. And the reactions of others to that calendar.

I watched the ball drop on Times Square via the "Tonight Show". Jay Leno kissed his wife as the New Year began. :)

Then I turned the TV off when Carrot Top pulled one too many of his un-funny items out of a prop trunk.
